There are so many excellently talented modern composers that it's very difficult to narrow it to 10, but here is Stephanie Camello's list of her top 10 best modern composers (primarily those born in the 1900s).

Known For: The Pianist book and movie was about his life and how he survived the Holocaust through various means and eventually was helped by a German soldier who helped hide him until the war ended. He was always a piano player and came from a musical Jewish family in Poland. His story of determination and survival is now well-known throughout the world after being brought to life by Adrien Brody who won the Academy Award for Best Actor. Let us never forget these stories!
