We all know the main Renaissance artists like DaVinci and Michelangelo, but what about artists that are not as well known, but their art sure is? Let's take a look at Stephanie Camello's top 10 list!
1) Brunelleschi - Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore dome, sculpted a few panels for the giant entrance doors for the St. John the Baptist Church in Florence, Italy.
2) Ghiberti - he did the structure and engravings for most of the same doors! There was a competition to see who would win the commissioning to create and design the church's doors and while Ghiberti won the general commission, Brunelleschi did contribute some panels to the doors that are still there today!
3) Jan van Eyck - Ghent altarpiece, Arnolfini portrait
4) Verocchio - Baptism of Christ, David, Mary with the Child Jesus
5) Bernini - Chair of St. Peter, Apollo and Daphne, Ecstasy of St. Teresa
